Contorted (2025) is a chilling psychological horror film that explores the terrifying intersection of trauma, possession, and the unreliability of perception. A reboot and spiritual successor to the original Korean thriller, this version expands the mythology while tightening the psychological screws until the audience can’t tell what’s real—and what’s rotting from within.

The story follows Mina Harper, a former ballet dancer turned physical therapist, who moves her family into an isolated countryside house after suffering a nervous breakdown. She believes the fresh air and quiet will help her recover—and give her young daughter a fresh start. But almost immediately, strange things begin happening: whispers echo through the vents, bruises appear on Mina’s body without cause, and her daughter's behavior grows increasingly disturbing.

As Mina’s physical condition deteriorates—her limbs twisting at unnatural angles, her bones cracking in impossible ways—doctors suspect a degenerative neurological disorder. But Mina is convinced it’s something else… something inside the house. Or worse, inside her. As she digs into the building’s history, she uncovers a past soaked in ritual abuse, fractured souls, and a legacy of contortion as a spiritual punishment.
