Trainwreck: P.I. Moms (2025) – Crime Doesn’t Stand a Chance Against Chaos

They have kids, snacks, and zero chill. Now they have a case

Trainwreck: P.I. Moms is a wild, razor-sharp comedy-action ride that crashes through suburbia with caffeine-fueled sass, mystery-solving mayhem, and a sisterhood of moms who do more than pack lunches—they pack heat. Releasing July 22nd, 2025, this film turns everyday motherhood into an undercover operation.

When a quiet cul-de-sac in Eastbrooke suddenly becomes the center of a bizarre string of disappearances, a trio of exasperated, overworked moms decide enough is enough. Led by Tara McBride (played by Amy Schumer in her most unfiltered role yet), the group includes Yvette, a yoga instructor with a criminal psychology degree, and Deena, a PTA president with a secret past in cyber-surveillance. Their mission? Solve the case before the cops can even find the clue box.

What starts as neighborhood gossip spirals into a tangled mess of fake charities, shady real estate scams, a rogue Girl Scout cookie ring—and possibly a covert government operation disguised as a book club. The deeper they dig, the more they realize: everyone in town is hiding something, including each other.

With wine tumblers in one hand and walkie-talkies in the other, the P.I. Moms combine intuition, street smarts, and inappropriate banter to take on a mystery no one thought they were qualified for—and somehow do it in carpool time.

Directed with punchy flair by Elizabeth Banks, and featuring cameos from Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, and Pedro Pascal as a bewildered detective with no idea what he's stepped into, Trainwreck: P.I. Moms is as heartwarming as it is hysterical.

Because crime may be messy—but these moms are messier.
