JUNGLE CRUISE: CURSE OF THE EMERALD TIDE (2024) – The River Flows Again. And So Does the Danger.

The river gave them life once. Now it may take it back

Jungle Cruise (2024) sets sail once more into myth, mayhem, and mirth in this rip-roaring sequel to the 2021 adventure hit. With Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt reprising their roles as the charismatic skipper Frank Wolff and fearless explorer Dr. Lily Houghton, the film dives deeper into ancient magic, forgotten empires, and the kind of supernatural chaos only a cursed river can provide.

Following their legendary journey for the Tree of Life, Frank and Lily have settled into a quieter life—or at least as quiet as two world-famous adventurers can get. But peace is short-lived. When a mysterious emerald amulet surfaces from the wreck of a sunken temple, linked to an age-old river goddess, the jungle awakens again—and with it, a dark tide of vengeance that threatens to flood more than just the Amazon.

Drawn back into the heart of the jungle by a new map and an old enemy, the duo—now accompanied by MacGregor (Jack Whitehall, still gloriously out of his element)—must navigate venomous rivers, cursed tribes, mischievous river spirits, and a sinister collector obsessed with controlling time itself. As ancient legends clash with new realities, Frank is forced to confront his past (again), and Lily learns that some myths are far older—and more dangerous—than she ever imagined.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Jungle Cruise: Curse of the Emerald Tide delivers a vibrant blend of pulp adventure, witty banter, and explosive set-pieces. Expect giant river monsters, collapsing temples, enchanted waterfalls, and of course, plenty of Frank’s bad puns (“Don’t worry—this trip’s a splash hit!”).

But underneath the spectacle lies a heart—of friendship, love, and the eternal thrill of the unknown. Because in this jungle, the deeper you go, the wilder it gets.
