"They went to ludicrous speed. Now they’re going off-script."
The galaxy is in peril… mostly from bad jokes, recycled sequels, and an overabundance of yogurt references. After decades of silence, Spaceballs 2 crash-lands into theaters like a starship with no brakes and a script written mid-flight. Mel Brooks returns to spoof a whole new era of sci-fi excess, armed with warp-speed sarcasm and a Schwartz still slightly out of alignment.
Dark Helmet (now upgraded to Dark Helmet XL) is back, thirstier than ever for revenge—and perhaps for merchandising rights. Lone Starr (played by a new, suspiciously handsome pilot) is dragged out of retirement when Planet Druidia is threatened once more, this time by Mega-Mega-Maid, now equipped with AI, TikTok, and a solar-powered vacuum.
Meanwhile, Barf 2.0 (the half-dog, all-heart offspring of the original Barf) struggles with his tail, his taxes, and his unspoken love for Dot Matrix’s new model. And in the swamps of Yogurt’s homeworld, the Schwartz awakens... but mostly because someone stepped on its foot.
A loving parody of every reboot, prequel, sequel, and over-hyped franchise known to cinema, Spaceballs 2 aims not to elevate sci-fi—but to blast it into comedic hyperspace.
