Set in the quiet town of Babylon, Florida in the 1980s, the story follows the murder of young Margaret Larkin, a sweet, bright teenage girl whose life is cruelly cut short in the darkness of the local marsh. Her grieving grandmother Evelyn (Candy Clark) and troubled older brother Jerry (Chester Rushing) struggle to make sense of the crime in a town that seems all too eager to look the other way.

But Margaret doesn't stay buried for long. As the killer walks free, strange phenomena begin to plague the town—visions of ghostly apparitions, flooded streets under moonlight, and shadows that creep in daylight. The boundaries between justice and revenge begin to dissolve as something vengeful and unstoppable rises with the tide.
